On Saturday, January 28, 2017, SDAI is hosting the third installment from its “MIXTAPE” series, highlighting quality local, national, and international musical acts. In 2016, SDAI released “MIXTAPE: Vol. 1: Art’s All Over”, a compilation album featuring bands that have played at San Diego Art Institute, including: Prayers; L.A. Witch; Low Volts; and Gary Wilson and the Blind Dates. “Mixtape Vol. 1: Art’s All Over” is sold as a numbered, limited-edition cassette tape, as well as a downloadable album. Copies of the cassette are available at Space 1439, SDAI’s gift shop.

7:30pm: Die Mißbildungen Des Menschen (San Diego-based audio/visual ensemble utilizing analog synthesizers, percussion, projections)

8:30pm: Hexa (San Diego-based experimental dark pop featuring Carrie Gillespie Feller)

9:30pm Alice Bag (LA-basedpunk icon)

About Alice Bag
Alice Bag is a singer/songwriter, musician, author, artist, educator, and feminist. She was the lead singer and co-founder of the Bags, one of the first punk bands to form during the first wave of punk rock in Los Angeles. In 1981, members of the Bags appeared as the Alice Bag Band in the seminal documentary on punk rock, The Decline of Western Civilization. In 2016, Alice’s self-titled debut solo album was released on Don Giovanni records.
