The San Diego Art Institute SDAI is pleased to partner with Luscious Noise to present “A Macabre Soiree” on Thursday, October 27, 6pm-8pm. During the month of October, SDAI is presenting all Halloween-themed programming in conjunction with the concurrent exhibitions “The Dead are Not Quiet: an exhibition of Macabre Art” and “The Haunted Art of T. Jefferson Carey." This film screening with live score will take place at San Diego Art Institute, 1439 El Prado on Thursday, October 27, 6pm-8pm. Cost for admission is $10.
For this evening, SDAI will screen an abridged version of F.W. Murnau's Nosferatu featuring a live score compiled by Jory Herman that will make your skin crawl, performed by musicians of the San Diego Symphony under the direction of John Stubbs. In addition, there will be a spooky performance of Michael Daugherty's Viola Zombie as well as other tricks and treats. Guests will be able to enjoy a themed Zombie cocktail.
