About the Artists:

David Russell Talbott:

David Russell Talbott has exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, Art Basel Miami and has been published internationally. His artwork has been seen in Juxtapoz, Sleek Magazine, & San Diego Citybeat. Recently, Susan Kismaric, a curator from MOMA New York, chose one of Talbott’s “Deadly Sins” pieces to be exhibited in an international art show. Visually D
avid’s work harkens back to the golden age of pulp illustration, but his themes are very much about the struggle of modern life.

Jim Anthony:

Jim Anthony’s unabashed glimpses of Americana often contain the stony attribute of his wry humor and the moral weight of his conviction that the artist is, first and foremost, a communicator. A story should be told or message conveyed. His philosophy is one which speaks of the direct and unimpeded conveyance of an idea. Over the years, he has developed a unique, constantly evolving, form of realism employing bas-relief using modern materials that seems to create images that jump right off the two dimensional painting surface.

Anthony studied Design under Buckminster Fuller at Southern Illinois University (SIU). One of his first art works captured top prize in SIU’s First ANNUAL UNDERGRADUATE ART SHOW. The painting, the US Male, currently hangs in the SIU Student Center. His work has since appeared in numerous juried competitions including Parkersburg (WV) Art Center’s REALISM ‘96 Show, Manhattan Arts International 1996 FIFTH ANNUAL ART competition earning an Award of Excellence, San Diego Art Institute’s INTERNATIONAL JURIED EXHIBITION (twice), and placed first in Chicago’s Foremost Liquor Stores’ ANNUAL WINE ART COMPETITION, to name a few. He also was a featured artist in the New Art Internationalbook by Book Art Press (a juried selection process), and currently shows regularly at several galleries and in juried regional, national and international competitive exhibitions.

Beyond commercial freelancing, corporate assignments and work in the US Navy, Anthony went on to exhibit in Chicago, Denver, San Diego, and in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. His art can be found in many public and private collections, including circling the globe on ships at sea.

He is, or has been, affiliated with the Artist Guild of Chicago, the San Diego Art Institute, the Pacific Art League, Scottsdale Artist's League, Knickerbocker Artists, Southwestern Artists Association, and San Diego Museum of Art’s Artist Guild. Presently, Mr. Anthony resides and works in the Ocean Beach-Point Loma area of San Diego.
