San Diego Art Institute (SDAI) will host its annual C-NOTE show and sale of original artwork by San Diego and Tijuana-based artists on Saturday and Sunday, November 16 and 17, 2019. C-NOTE is intended as a gateway for collecting artwork created by regional artists: all art is priced at $100, $200, or $300.

Artists working in all media and at all levels of their career are encouraged to apply. All submissions will be reviewed by a jury and the selected artists will be:

  • INVITED to an exclusive artists’ preview reception to meet collectors and art aficionados;

  • SEEN by over 1000 prospective buyers who attend, most with the specific intent to purchase;

  • PUBLICIZED on digital and traditional media platforms in advance of the show; and

  • PROMOTED directly to buyers/collectors.

Artists can choose to split their commission with SDAI or donate the full sale amount to SDAI. Proceeds from C-NOTE support SDAI’s work in advancing regional contemporary art and artists with regular exhibitions and programming for cultural equity and innovation in the arts.

  • Francisco Eme, composer, sound artist, and Gallery Director of the Front Gallery in San Ysidro;

  • Anya Gallaccio, an artist who creates site specific installations, a past Turner Prize nominee, and professor with UCSD’s Department of Visual Arts;

  • Joey Herring, curator of the Arts Program at the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority;

  • Deborah Klochko, Director and Chief Curator, Museum of Photographic Arts;
