Retail Intern

 

Summary:

The Retail Intern will work with the Gift Shop Manager to maintain store inventory, identify and implement visual merchandising strategies, maintain a budget and increase revenue, structure store procedures, and suggest new opportunities. As SDAI’s store enters a new phase of development, the Retail Intern will help to identify audience engagement strategies alongside the implementation of new sales techniques.

Gift Shop Manager

Opportunities:

Gain experience in day-to-date retail sales

Develop and maintain budgets

Implement new visual merchandising strategies

Working with other departments on content-related merchandising

 

Responsibilities:

Attend to SDAI and store visitors on a weekly schedule

Identify new products

Maintain inventory

Work with Communications team on social media

Printing daily reports

Photographing products

Writing product descriptions

 

Requirements:

Currently enrolled student or recent graduate

Proficiency with Windows or Mac operating systems, MS Office and POS software

Independent worker: self-motivated and organized

Interest in retail sales
