Development Intern

 

Summary:

This entry-level position offers an introduction to the daily operations of an active Development team. The intern will receive training in prospect research, donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, grant research and writing, and planning and implementation of events and fundraisers.

Executive Director & Deputy Director

Opportunities:

Build strategies for and perform prospect research and cultivation

Work on designing material and writing content for membership and donor stewardship

Develop donor cultivation plans

Gain experience in database management and record keeping

Learn about event planning and management for fundraisers, opening events, private receptions, tours, and off-site events

Secure in-kind donations for events

Create and maintain fundraising budgets and expectations

 

Responsibilities:

Research prospects

Write cultivation plans

Input prospect/donor information into database

Create and send email announcements

Organize events

Contact organization donors and members

Provide additional administrative support as needed

Write LOIs and grant proposals

Maintain membership database and communication

 

Requirements:

Currently enrolled student or recent graduate

Excellent research skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office software

Design application experience a plus

Independent worker

Interest in learning about museum fundraising
